Barrister's Ball

Dear 3L Class,
The annual law school Barrister's Ball is coming up on March 25th
(Thursday evening). The planning stages have already commenced.
However, we would like your input. For those of you who attended last
year, the Barrister's Ball was held at the Provo Academy Library
upstairs in the ballroom. First there was a catered dinner, followed by
an awards ceremony where many presentations were made, then they cleared
off the tables and someone gave ballroom dance instruction to the whole
group (for those who wanted to participate), with time to practice and
learn, then they turned down the lights, and a DJ provided music for the
last hour or so for those who wanted to stick around and shake their
groove-thang. Some people attended the dinner only, and opted out of the
dancing, some people showed up just for the dancing and not the dinner.
This year, as we are planning, we would like to hear your feedback from
last year, and any thoughts for this year. This event focuses on the
entire law school, but we want to make it particularly important for the
3L class, so we would love to have your input. What kind of
entertainment do we want after the Ball? DJ? Dance instruction? Do we
want any other entertainment before the dinner (e.g., jazz musicians
playing) or after the awards are distributed? We have a separate room
at the Provo Library where we can put up pictures and memories of the
past three years . . . how do we want to use this room?
If you have any thoughts or ideas, please share them with Doug Farr
(dpf7@byulaw.net) or your 3L reps: Melinda Bowen (mwayas@byulaw.net)
and Glen Thomas (grt4@byulaw.net).
Thanks!
Melinda and Gleno9
