Those running for Elections

We had a few people nominated for each board position, but as it happens, only one person is running for each position. So the vote will take place mostly as a formality; however, please take time to vote to show support for those running and in the event a write-in candidate chooses to run. There were seven Law Partners nominated for positions that I never heard from so if they decide to write-in, it may come down to counting votes. Only one person was nominated for The Gifts of the Heart Exchange Rep and only one for the Male Rep so they are gimmees. I'll post the Male Rep at a later time. You may only vote once.

President
Tausha Bentz
I'm Tausha Bentz from Manti, UT. I've been married for almost 3 years to Steve Bentz, a 2L, from Tempe Arizona. We have one daughter named Andrea who is 15 months old. I graduated from BYU in 2010 with my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I love to exercise, dance, sing, and play any type of sport or game. I am currently a Zumba dn Hip Hop Hustle instructor and Ballet/JAzz teacher and teach at a few different places including our Exercise Group on Wednesdays. I love life and I absolutely LOVE being a mom and a wife!!

I'm running for Law Partners President. I love the Law Partners program because it allows us to feel involved in our husband's/wife's schooling and make life-long friends with other spouses. I would love to continue the wonderful Legacy that has been created by previous Law Partners Presidencies. My Law school experience has been greatly enriched by the friends I have made through Law Partners. I've been really impressed with all of the activities especially socials, exercise group, and Gifts of the Heart Exchange. I plan to continue all of the incredible activities that Law Partners has to offer, but i would also like to incorporate more date night type activities. We can all use an excuse to get to spend more time with our spouse, so I think a planned and fun date night with other law spouses and their husband/wife would be fantastic!

I love to plan activities and make sure they are exciting and fun! I am dependable and will complete any task that is given to me. I will be a leader who listens to the ideas of others and incorporates them when making decisions. Please consider me as your next Law Partners President.

Vice President

DeAnn Mehr
My name is DeAnn Mehr and my husband, Dan, will be a 3L during the 2011-2012 school year. Needless to say we are excited about that. We have 3 adorable children: Todd is 10 years old, Ian is just about 8 and Lucy is 2 1/2. I love being a mom with all of the challenges and joys that come with that responsibility. As a family, we love being outdoors and just playing together. My boys are huge BYU sports fans so we have a lot of fun with that too. (Jimmer-mania is alive and well at our house). Besides being with my husband and kids, I like to read, blog, quilt & do other crafty, creative things.

Being involved with Law Partners over the past 2 years has been great. I have met and become friends with a lot of wonderful people and have had some great times. These friendships and Law Partners activities have certainly helped with the adjustment into law school life.

This coming year I'd like to serve as Vice President. I think the Law Partners group has a great tradition of friendship, learning and fun times; all of which I hope to continue with my service. I think helping all law student spouses feel welcomed and informed of the different activities is key and I plan on doing my part with that as well...Here's to another year of Law School!

Historian

Hannah Stoehr
Hello! I am Hannah Stoehr, wife of Tyler, a 2L. We are both from Colorado (yes, we were high school sweethearts). We have three children, two fish and one rabbit. I graduated from BYU in 2002 in Acting and Theater Education. Now, instead of being on stage for a large audience I get to perform for my children daily. In addition to theater my hobbies include sewing, photography, blogging, planning parties, facebooking way too much and creating beautiful things!

I believe I could fill the role of Historian well. I have thoroughly enjoyed attending Law Partner events over the last year and a half. It has been a great outlet for both my husband and children, and ultimately me. I feel it to be very important to socialize, reach out, and connect with others who may be going through similar circumstances as you. While our spouses are busily engaged in the work and scholastic field we can be stimulated socially as well! I will love to enhance your well-being to better enhance your spouse’s law school experience. With my love of blogging, reaching out and planning get togethers, I believe I would fit the role of Historian and make next year the best one yet!

Treasurer
Beth MacCallum

Secretary
Amy Hindman
I would love to be the Law Partners Secretary! Law school is such a big part of all of our lives right now and I think it is really important for the Law Partners to get to know each other and support each other. As the Law Partners Secretary I would work hard to get everyone involved in an activity that is right for them.

As a 1L with an infant I felt like children's hour was perfect for toddlers and older kids, but not a great fit for us. Next year I'd like to start a Mother's Group for all of the soon-to-be mommys and new mommys.
I’ve done this with my neighbors and it’s great to compare the thrills and spills of motherhood in a calm, clean environment.
I’ve been involved with Gifts of the Heart Exchange for 2 years now and love it! As the Law Partners Secretary I’d like to make sure everyone has a chance to get involved and take advantage of this wonderful event.
I love being a member of the Law Partners and I’m looking forward to 2 more years of fun activities!

My husband and I were married in April 2008. We are the very proud parents of a 1 year old girl, Anne. Last spring we both graduated from BYU. I am thrilled to now be a stay at home mom and love spending every minute with my daughter! In my spare time (which is rare!) I like to sew, bake, and run.

Gifts of the Heart Exchange Representative
Natalie Rasmussen
I am excited to serve as the GOTHE Rep for 2011-2012. Being involved with GOTHE has been one of my favorite things this year. I love the chance that it gives me to visit with other women, provide for my family, and help others provide for their families too. I feel like GOTHE is a good way for each of us to practice Zion attitudes as we work together to provide for our needs. I've been impressed with the way volunteers from MBSA and LP are careful to take only what they need and think about leaving good things for the needs of those who will be coming after. It has truly been a blessing for me and I hope for all the other LP as well. I'm excited to be more involved in LP this year and to get to know everyone now that my youngest is getting a little older, and life a little more manageable again.

Originally from Kaysville, UT, I met my husband on a blind date while we were attending BYU as undergrads. We had our first son while both of us were still finishing school, so we've done the trading-baby-off-on-campus routine. I graduated in Landscape Management with a minor in business. After graduation, my husband and I moved to Idaho Falls where he worked for three years before we decided to quit and come back to law school. We have three little boys Joseph 5, Anders 3, and Samuel 10 months. As newly weds my husband and I lived and worked briefly in Germany. I love gardening, plants, camping, hiking, sewing, cooking, and reading.
