GOTHE: FREE clothes & kids gear!
- For those who don't know, GOTHE stands for Gifts of the Heart Exchange
and it is basically an opportunity to get free clothing, baby gear,
etc. for BYU student families. We also encourage student families to
donate items they no longer need to the exchange. However, we have a
lot of stuff for this particular exchange so you may want to save your
donations for the November exchange. The bulk of the clothing comes
from donations from families in the community facilitated by the Kid
to Kid store in Lehi.

Spotlight on next year's male rep
Layne Salmond-next year's LP male rep
Bio
I graduated from West High School from Tracy, California. I came to BYU in 2006, and I was accepted into the Mechanical Engineering program. I served my mission in Independence, Missouri from Jan. 2008-2010. Upon returning home from my mission, I renewed my studies – and pursuit of a girl I had met my freshman year. Breanne and I married in August of 2010, and she began law school one week after our wedding.
Today, I am a 3rd year mechanical engineering student. In addition to my studies, I work as a lifeguard at the Richard’s Building Pool, play with the BYU Water Polo club, perform research for Dr. Stephen Charles about the nueromechanics of the wrist, and spend the rest of my time with 2ft Prosthetics, an organization dedicated to helping amputees in developing countries receive working limbs. I plan to pursue an advanced degree by eventually earning a Master’s in Biomechanical Engineering.
Goals
As a male member of Law Partners for about a year, I found it hard to relate to a lot of the activities that Law Partners had planned, but I wanted to be involved and help support my wife with her Law School. I am sure that many of the male members feel this way.
As the LP Male Rep, I am here to help. My job is to make sure that you feel involved at whatever level you want to commit to. We can have a social where all our awesome law-school wives (who already know each other) can hang out, while we down pizza and play video games on a big-screen. And hey, if someone is trying to form an intramural team or laser-tag team, or…maybe a support group when your wives are locked in the law school for finals, and you can’t cook… I am here to help. If you have ideas for get-togethers or group dates, let me know and I can help get the ball rolling (I believe we can even help with funds).I want to make sure that Law Partners is able to be a support group for the husbands of law students as well as wives, and I hope that this next year, we can accomplish just that.
