HULA TODAY:
Aloha,
FREE HULA CLASS taught at the law school for law students and spouses. This class is sponsored by PILSA (Pacific Island Law Student Association) and is every Thursday from 5:30-6:15 pm for the duration of the school year. This Thursday, we will be in room 205, directly below the moot courtroom. Class rooms change weekly because we practice in any room available. We will always put a sign on the parking side (east) entrance to the law school with the room number for hula class that day.
The class begins with basic hula steps and will include both Kahiko (ancient) and 'Auana (modern) style dances. You will also be introduced to 'oli ( chant), mele (hawaiian songs), and 'olelo (hawaiian language). If you have a pa'u (hula skirt), or lava lava (sarong), please bring it with you, although it is not necessary.
Come and enjoy a rich cultural experience, and a good workout at the same time. We will also be preparing a number for the law school talent show in February if you would like to participate. Remember, the class is every Thursday, from 5:30-6:15pm at the law school, so if you can't come this week- hope you can join us another time. No class on Thanksgiving.
